  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, spices, and salt.
  3. Add the cubed butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In another bowl, combine the pumpkin, buttermilk, and egg.
  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  6. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently before rolling out and cutting into scone shapes.
  7. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
