  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Gently fold in the blueberries.
  5. Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each mold about 2/3 full.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • For a sweeter donut, consider adding a glaze or icing on top.
