- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup eggnog
- 1/2 cup cinnamon sugar (for rolling)
- 1 cup your favorite jam or preserves
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until well blended.
- Mix in the eggnog.
- Roll the dough into balls, then roll in the cinnamon sugar.
- Place on a baking sheet and make an indentation in the center with your thumb.
- Fill each indentation with jam or preserves.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden.
