Cinnamon Apple Crumb Cake

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup diced apples
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  3. Add softened butter and mix until crumbly.
  4. Press half of the mixture into the bottom of a greased pan.
  5. In another bowl, mix eggs, milk, nutmeg, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Fold in diced apples.
  7. Pour the apple mixture over the crust in the pan.
  8. Top with remaining crumb mixture.
  9. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Let cool before serving.

Notes

  • Consider adding chopped nuts for extra crunch.
  • Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
