  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.
  7. For the filling, mix brown sugar and cinnamon together in a small bowl.
  8. Fill cupcake liners halfway with batter, sprinkle with filling, then add more batter on top.
  9. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  10. Allow cupcakes to cool completely before frosting.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add chopped nuts to the filling.
