Creamy Smothered Chicken and Rice

A delicious and comforting dish featuring tender chicken smothered in a creamy sauce, served over fluffy rice.

  • 4 boneless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups white rice
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and brown chicken breasts on both sides.
  3. In a large bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. In a baking dish, layer the rice and pour the soup mixture over it.
  5. Place the browned chicken on top of the mixture.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove foil, sprinkle with cheddar cheese, and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
