  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine chopped dates and boiling water. Let sit for 10 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, cream together brown sugar, granulated sugar, and butter.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract to the sugar mixture, and mix well.
  4. Stir in the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until just combined.
  5. Fold in the date mixture and pour into the crockpot.
  6. Cook on low for 4 hours or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. For the sauce, mix heavy cream and maple syrup in a small saucepan. Heat until warm and serve over pudding.
