  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 3/4 cups chicken broth
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 package refrigerated pie crusts (2 crusts)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour, salt, pepper, and onion powder.
  3. Gradually add chicken broth and milk, stirring constantly until thick and bubbly.
  4. Add chicken and peas and carrots to the mixture.
  5. Pour the filling into a pie crust, then cover with the second crust. Seal and cut slits for steam to escape.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
