- 8 ounces pasta of your choice
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water.
- In the last 3 minutes of cooking, add the broccoli florets to the pot.
- Drain the pasta and broccoli, reserving a cup of pasta water.
- In the same pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat and sauté the garlic until fragrant.
- Add the drained pasta and broccoli, along with lemon zest, Parmesan cheese, and lemon juice. Toss well.
- If the pasta is too dry, add a bit of the reserved pasta water to reach the desired consistency.
- Season with salt and pepper, then serve immediately.
