- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 package cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup hot fudge sauce
- 1/2 cup toasted nuts (optional)
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch springform pan.
- In a bowl, combine the sugars, cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Mix in the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla until well blended.
- Pour half of the mixture into the prepared pan and bake for 20 minutes.
- While the brownies bake, beat together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Remove brownies from oven, spread cream cheese mixture on top, then pour remaining brownie batter over.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes.
- Let cool, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.
- Before serving, top with hot fudge sauce and toasted nuts if desired.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate cocoa powder.
- Serve warm with ice cream for an indulgent treat.
