Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, until everything is well combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cupcake liners, filling them about two-thirds full.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cupcakes to cool completely before frosting.
  9. For the buttercream frosting, beat together the softened butter and powdered sugar, adding milk until the desired consistency is reached.
