  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup strawberry preserves

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar until fluffy.
  4. Add the molasses, egg, and vanilla; mix until combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until blended.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet.
  7. Using your thumb, create a small indentation in the center of each cookie.
  8. Fill the indentation with strawberry preserves.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set.
  10. Let cool before serving.

Notes
