Ingredients

  • 1 large egg
  • ¾ cup molasses

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar until fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and molasses, mixing until combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until dough forms.
  5. Chill the dough for at least 1 hour.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  7. Roll out the dough and cut shapes as desired.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until set.
  9. Let cool before decorating.
