  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, ginger, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, and cloves.
  2. In a separate bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add molasses and egg, mixing well.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Chill the dough for at least an hour.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Roll out the dough and cut out desired shapes.
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes and let cool.
  9. Decorate as desired.

  • For no spread cookies, ensure the dough is chilled well.
